Description
The issue is related to the improper performance of signature verification for OCSP responses, which can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This can lead to a NULL pointer dereference and application crash via an invalid key. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, potentially disrupting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations
For OpenSSL versions prior to 0.9.8y, update to version 0.9.8y or later.
