Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the Broadcom ACSD component, which can be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by sending a long string to TCP port 5916. The component is used in routers from multiple vendors, including ASUS RT-AC66U and TRENDnet TEW-812DRU.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
