Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel version 2.6.32 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a system crash, by sending priority-tagged VLAN frames. This is due to a problem in the vlan hwaccel do receive function in net/8021q/vlan core.c.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel version 2.6.32 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6, consider applying the Red Hat patch to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, restrict the reception of priority-tagged VLAN frames to minimize the risk of exploitation.
