Description
The issue is related to the handling of 8-bit characters in passwords by the
functions/imap general.php file in SquirrelMail. This can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically disk consumption, by making multiple IMAP login attempts with different usernames. This results in the creation of numerous preference files.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
