CVE-2012-6548

CVSS v2.0

1.9

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 3.6
Description The issue allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel heap memory via a crafted application. This is due to the udf encode fh function in fs/udf/namei.c not initializing a certain structure member.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.6, update to version 3.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the udf encode fh function until a patch is available.
