CVE-2012-6554
CVSS v2.0
6.5
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
activeCollab versions prior to 1.5.2
Description
The issue allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code via the
message[message text] parameter to "chat/add message". This is due to improper handling when executing the preg replace function with the eval switch in the "functions/html to text.php" file of the Chat module.Recommendations
For versions prior to 1.5.2, update to version 1.5.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Chat module or disabling the
html to text.php function until a patch is available. Avoid using the message[message text] parameter in the "chat/add message" endpoint until the issue is resolved.Exploit
