CVE-2013-0220

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) versions prior to 1.9.4
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an out-of-bounds read, crash, and restart, via a crafted SSSD packet. This is due to vulnerabilities in the sss autofs cmd getautomntent and sss autofs cmd getautomntbyname functions in autofssrv cmd.c and the ssh cmd parse request function in sshsrv cmd.c.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.9.4, update to version 1.9.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable functions sss autofs cmd getautomntent, sss autofs cmd getautomntbyname, and ssh cmd parse request until a patch is available.
