Description A heap-based buffer overflow in the Java Runtime Environment component allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors related to JavaFX. This issue was demonstrated by VUPEN during a Pwn2Own competition at CanSecWest 2013.
Recommendations For Oracle Java SE 7 versions prior to Update 17, update to a version later than Update 17 to resolve the issue. For JavaFX versions prior to 2.2.7, update to a version later than 2.2.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of JavaFX until a patch is available.
