Description
The issue is related to a race condition in the VRF-aware NAT feature, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via IPv4 packets. This could lead to a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is in the Cisco IOS Software implementation of the virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) aware network address translation (NAT) feature when translating IP packets.
Recommendations
For Cisco IOS versions 12.2 through 12.4, update to a fixed version to resolve the issue.
For Cisco IOS versions 15.0 through 15.2, update to a fixed version to resolve the issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
