CVE-2013-2238

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FreeSWITCH version 1.2
Description The issue is related to multiple buffer overflows in the switch perform substitution function in switch regex.c, which can be exploited by remote attackers. This can cause a denial of service (crash) and potentially allow the execution of arbitrary code. The attack vectors are related to the index and substituted variables.
Recommendations For FreeSWITCH version 1.2, consider disabling the switch perform substitution function in switch regex.c as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the affected function to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
