CVE-2013-4125
CVSS v2.0
5.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 3.10.1
Description
The issue is related to the handling of Router Advertisement (RA) messages in the IPv6 stack. Specifically, the fib6 add rt2node function in net/ipv6/ip6 fib.c does not properly handle certain circumstances involving three routes that initially qualified for membership in an ECMP route set until a change occurred for one of the first two routes. This can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service (system crash) via a crafted sequence of messages.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.10.1, update to version 3.10.1 or later to resolve the issue.
