| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
OpenStack Compute (Nova) versions Folsom through Grizzly and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by consuming the connection pool. This can be achieved by sending multiple requests with long strings to an instance console and then retrieving the console log. The estimated number of potentially affected devices worldwide is not specified.
Recommendations
For OpenStack Compute (Nova) versions Folsom through Grizzly and earlier, consider disabling the use of Apache Qpid for the RPC backend as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to instance consoles to prevent abuse. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
