CVE-2013-4551

CVSS v2.0

5.7

Medium

VectorAV:A/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Xen versions 4.2.x through 4.3.x
Description The issue allows local HVM guest users to cause a denial of service, specifically a host crash, via unspecified vectors related to guest VMX instruction execution. This occurs when nested virtualization is disabled and the emulation paths for VMLAUNCH and VMRESUME are not properly checked.
Recommendations For Xen versions 4.2.x through 4.3.x, consider enabling nested virtualization as a temporary workaround to prevent the host crash. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
