CVE-2013-4553

CVSS v2.0

5.2

Medium

VectorAV:A/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Xen versions 3.4.x through 4.3.x
Description The issue allows local guest administrators to cause a denial of service (host deadlock) due to the XEN DOMCTL getmemlist hypercall not always obtaining the page alloc lock and mm rwlock in the same order.
Recommendations For Xen versions 3.4.x through 4.3.x, consider applying a patch that ensures the page alloc lock and mm rwlock are obtained in the same order to prevent host deadlock. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the XEN DOMCTL getmemlist hypercall to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
