| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
DeWeS web server version 0.4.2 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a ..%5c (dot dot encoded backslash) in a GET request. This is a directory traversal vulnerability.
Recommendations
For DeWeS web server version 0.4.2 and earlier, consider restricting access to sensitive files and directories until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, disabling the handling of encoded backslashes in GET requests may help mitigate the issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
