| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Sophos Web Appliance versions prior to 3.7.9.1
Sophos Web Appliance versions 3.8 prior to 3.8.1.1
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in the
domain parameter to "end-user/index.php". This is due to a problem in the get referers function in /opt/ws/bin/sblistpack.Recommendations
For Sophos Web Appliance versions prior to 3.7.9.1, update to version 3.7.9.1 or later.
For Sophos Web Appliance versions 3.8 prior to 3.8.1.1, update to version 3.8.1.1 or later.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "end-user/index.php" endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the
domain parameter in the affected endpoint until the issue is resolved.Exploit
