Description
The issue is related to the Winsock WSAIoctl API, which does not properly support the SIO GET INTERFACE LIST command for a specific netmask. This allows remote attackers to bypass intended IP address restrictions by misinterpreting the netmask 255.255.255.255 as 0.0.0.0.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Windows Server 2008, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For ISC BIND versions 9.6-ESV before 9.6-ESV-R10-P1, update to version 9.6-ESV-R10-P1 or later.
For ISC BIND versions 9.8 before 9.8.6-P1, update to version 9.8.6-P1 or later.
For ISC BIND versions 9.9 before 9.9.4-P1, update to version 9.9.4-P1 or later.
For ISC BIND versions 9.9.3-S1 and 9.9.4-S1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
