CVE-2013-7011
CVSS v2.0
6.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 2.1
Description
The issue is related to the read header function in libavcodec/ffv1dec.c, which does not prevent changes to global parameters. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds array access) or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted FFV1 data.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.1, update to version 2.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the read header function in libavcodec/ffv1dec.c to minimize the risk of exploitation.
