CVE-2013-7019
CVSS v2.0
6.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FFmpeg versions prior to 2.1
Description
The issue is related to the get cox function in libavcodec/jpeg2000dec.c, which does not properly validate the reduction factor. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds array access) or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted JPEG2000 data.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.1, update to version 2.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of JPEG2000 data to minimize the risk of exploitation.
