CVE-2014-1505

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 28.0 Mozilla Firefox ESR versions prior to 24.4 Thunderbird versions prior to 24.4 SeaMonkey versions prior to 2.25
Description The issue is related to errors in the implementation of the SVG filter, which allows a remote attacker to obtain sensitive displacement-correlation information and possibly bypass the Same Origin Policy (SOP) and read text from a different domain using a timing attack involving feDisplacementMap elements.
Recommendations For Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 28.0, update to version 28.0 or later. For Mozilla Firefox ESR versions prior to 24.4, update to version 24.4 or later. For Thunderbird versions prior to 24.4, update to version 24.4 or later. For SeaMonkey versions prior to 2.25, update to version 2.25 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of feDisplacementMap elements in SVG filters until a patch is available.
