CVE-2014-1524

CVSS v3.1

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 29.0 Firefox ESR versions prior to 24.5 Thunderbird versions prior to 24.5 SeaMonkey versions prior to 2.26
Description The issue arises from the nsXBLProtoImpl::InstallImplementation function not properly checking whether objects are XBL objects. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via crafted JavaScript code that accesses a non-XBL object as if it were an XBL object.
Recommendations For Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 29.0, update to version 29.0 or later. For Firefox ESR versions prior to 24.5, update to version 24.5 or later. For Thunderbird versions prior to 24.5, update to version 24.5 or later. For SeaMonkey versions prior to 2.26, update to version 2.26 or later.
