CVE-2014-3171

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 37.0.2062.94
Description The issue is related to a use-after-free vulnerability in the V8 bindings in Blink. This vulnerability can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have other unspecified impacts. The vulnerability is caused by the improper use of HashMap add operations instead of HashMap set operations, and is related to the files bindings/core/v8/DOMWrapperMap.h and bindings/core/v8/SerializedScriptValue.cpp.
Recommendations For Google Chrome versions prior to 37.0.2062.94, update to version 37.0.2062.94 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the V8 bindings in Blink until a patch is available.
