CVE-2014-1552

CVSS v2.0

5.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 31.0 Thunderbird versions prior to 31.0
Description The issue arises from the improper implementation of the sandbox attribute for the IFRAME element, allowing remote attackers to bypass same-origin content restrictions. This can be achieved through a specially crafted website in conjunction with a redirect, enabling attackers to evade intended restrictions.
Recommendations For Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 31.0, update to version 31.0 or later to resolve the issue. For Thunderbird versions prior to 31.0, update to version 31.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the IFRAME element with the sandbox attribute until a patch is available.
