| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Icinga versions 1.10.2 and earlier
Description
The issue involves multiple off-by-one errors that can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to a crash. This is achieved through unspecified vectors targeting specific functions: (1)
display nav table, (2) print export link, (3) page num selector, (4) page limit selector in cgi/cgiutils.c, or (5) status page num selector in cgi/status.c. These errors trigger a stack-based buffer overflow, which can compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The exploitation can be carried out remotely.Recommendations
For Icinga versions 1.10.2 and earlier, consider disabling the affected functions (
display nav table, print export link, page num selector, page limit selector, status page num selector) as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable modules (cgi/cgiutils.c and cgi/status.c) to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
