Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Samsung Galaxy S4 kernel versions 3.4 and earlier
Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the samsung extdisp driver. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption, or to gain privileges.
Recommendations
For kernel versions 3.4 and earlier, consider disabling the samsung extdisp driver as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable driver to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
