High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
boot2docker versions 1.2 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to the Docker daemon managed by boot2docker, which improperly enables unauthenticated TCP connections by default. This makes it easier for remote attackers to gain privileges or execute arbitrary code from children containers. The vulnerability is associated with inadequate access control when connecting to the Docker daemon using TCP connections, allowing a remote attacker to elevate their privileges and execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For boot2docker versions 1.2 and earlier, consider disabling unauthenticated TCP connections to the Docker daemon as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the Docker daemon to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
