Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Yokogawa CENTUM CS 3000 versions R3.09.50 and earlier
Description
The issue is caused by a stack-based buffer overflow in the BKHOdeq.exe service. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the CENTUM user by sending a specially crafted packet to the TCP port 32017.
Recommendations
For versions R3.09.50 and earlier, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the TCP port 32017 to minimize the risk of exploitation.
