CVE-2012-4241

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Microcart version 1.0
Description The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML, potentially leading to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This can occur through various means, including the PATH INFO or query string to admin/index.php, or through specific parameters to checkout.php, such as first name, last name, cc, exp, cvv, address1, address2, city, state, zip, phone, or email. These inputs are not properly handled in error messages, making them vulnerable to malicious injections.
Recommendations For Microcart version 1.0, as a temporary workaround, consider validating and sanitizing all user inputs to prevent malicious code injections. Restrict access to the admin/index.php and checkout.php files to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
