Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Live555 Streaming Media version 2013.11.26
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a space character at the beginning of an RTSP message. This triggers an integer underflow, infinite loop, and buffer overflow in the
parseRTSPRequestString function.Recommendations
For Live555 Streaming Media version 2013.11.26, consider disabling the
parseRTSPRequestString function until a patch is available to prevent potential exploitation. Restrict access to RTSP messages to minimize the risk of denial of service or arbitrary code execution. Avoid processing RTSP messages with a space character at the beginning until the issue is resolved.Exploit
