CVE-2014-0144

CVSS v3.1

8.6

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions QEMU versions prior to 2.0.0
Description The issue is related to missing input validations in block drivers for certain image formats, including CLOOP and QCOW2 version 2. This could lead to memory corruptions, integer or buffer overflows, or crashes, potentially allowing a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the host with the privileges of the QEMU process.
Recommendations For QEMU versions prior to 2.0.0, update to version 2.0.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable block drivers to minimize the risk of exploitation.
