Description The issue allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack. This is due to the way syncevo/installcheck-local.sh in syncevolution uses mktemp to create a temporary file and then appends a suffix to the original filename, writing to this new filename.

Recommendations For versions prior to 1.3.99.7, update to version 1.3.99.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the syncevo/installcheck-local.sh script until the update is applied.
