CVE-2014-1739

CVSS v2.0

2.1

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 3.14.6
Description The issue allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel memory. This is possible due to the media device enum entities function in drivers/media/media-device.c not initializing a certain data structure. The sensitive information can be obtained by leveraging /dev/media0 read access for a MEDIA IOC ENUM ENTITIES ioctl call.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.14.6, update to version 3.14.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to /dev/media0 to minimize the risk of exploitation.
