CVE-2014-1909

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Android SDK Platform Tools version 18.0.1
Description The issue is caused by an integer signedness error in the system/core/adb/adb client.c file of the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) for Android 4.4. This error allows ADB servers to execute arbitrary code via a negative length value. The negative length value bypasses a signed comparison and triggers a stack-based buffer overflow.
Recommendations For Android SDK Platform Tools version 18.0.1, consider restricting access to ADB servers to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using negative length values in ADB transactions to prevent triggering the stack-based buffer overflow.
