CVSS v2.0

3.5

Low

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions vBulletin versions 4.2.2 and earlier vBulletin versions 5.0.x through 5.0.5
Description A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted XMLRPC API request. This can be achieved by manipulating the client name.
Recommendations For vBulletin versions 4.2.2 and earlier, update to a version later than 4.2.2 to resolve the issue. For vBulletin versions 5.0.x through 5.0.5, update to a version later than 5.0.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the admincp/apilog.php file to minimize the risk of exploitation.
