Description A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue exists due to a vulnerability in the formatHTML function. This allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted string located after http:// in the text parameter to "api.php".

For MediaWiki versions 1.20.x, update to a version outside of the 1.20.x range, as no specific fix is mentioned within this range.
