Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco IOS XR (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to the DHCPv6 implementation, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a malformed packet. This is due to incorrect handling of such packets, potentially causing the DHCPv6 server process to hang and stop processing requests. An attacker would need to send a malformed DHCPv6 packet to an affected device configured with DHCPv6 server functionality to exploit this issue. The device must be configured with DHCPv6 server functionality, and the attacker may need access to trusted, internal networks.
