VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libndp (affected versions not specified) ALT Linux (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the ndp msg opt dnssl domain function in libndp, which can be exploited by remote routers. This can lead to a denial of service (crash) and potentially allow the execution of arbitrary code. The exploitation occurs via a crafted DNS Search List (DNSSL) in an IPv6 router advertisement.
Recommendations For libndp, consider disabling the ndp msg opt dnssl domain function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. For ALT Linux, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
