Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 3.17.2
Description
The issue allows host OS users to kill arbitrary processes or cause a denial of service by leveraging /dev/kvm access. This can be demonstrated through PR SET TSC prctl calls within a modified copy of QEMU, affecting the system's stability.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 3.17.2, update to version 3.17.2 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to /dev/kvm to minimize the risk of exploitation.
