CVE-2014-3911

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Samsung iPOLiS Device Manager versions prior to 1.8.7
Description The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified values to various methods in the XNSSDKDEVICE.XnsSdkDeviceCtrlForIpInstaller.1 ActiveX control, including the Start, ChangeControlLocalName, DeleteDeviceProfile, and FrameAdvanceReader methods.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.8.7, update to version 1.8.7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the FrameAdvanceReader method, the ChangeControlLocalName method, the DeleteDeviceProfile method, and the Start method in the XNSSDKDEVICE.XnsSdkDeviceCtrlForIpInstaller.1 ActiveX control until a patch is available. Restrict access to the XNSSDKDEVICE.XnsSdkDeviceCtrlForIpInstaller.1 ActiveX control to minimize the risk of exploitation.
