| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Wordfence Security plugin versions prior to 5.1.4
Description
A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue exists, allowing remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the
whoisval parameter on the WordfenceWhois page to "wp-admin/admin.php".Recommendations
For versions prior to 5.1.4, update to version 5.1.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the WordfenceWhois page in wp-admin/admin.php to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the
whoisval parameter in the affected page until the issue is resolved.Exploit
