CVE-2014-5387

CVSS v2.0

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions EllisLab ExpressionEngine versions prior to 2.9.1
Description The issue allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands. This can be achieved via the column filter or category[] parameter to "system/index.php" or the tbl sort[0][] parameter in the comment module to "system/index.php".
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.9.1, update to version 2.9.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the column filter, category[], and tbl sort[0][] parameters in the affected API endpoints until a patch is available. Avoid using these parameters in the "system/index.php" endpoint and the comment module until the issue is resolved.
