Description A remote code execution issue exists due to improper handling of objects in memory while parsing specially crafted Office files, potentially corrupting system memory and allowing arbitrary code execution. This could grant an attacker the same user rights as the current user, with customers having fewer user rights being less impacted.

Recommendations For Microsoft Word 2007 SP3, update to a version that properly handles objects in memory to prevent arbitrary code execution. For Word Viewer, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. For Office Compatibility Pack SP3, update to a version that correctly parses Office files to mitigate the risk of memory corruption and code execution.
