CVE-2014-6409

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions M/Monit versions 3.3.2 and earlier
Description A cross-site request forgery issue allows remote attackers to hijack administrator authentication for requests that change user passwords. This is achieved via the fullname and password parameters to the "/admin/users/update" API endpoint.
Recommendations For M/Monit versions 3.3.2 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "/admin/users/update" API endpoint until a patch is available. Avoid using the fullname and password parameters in this endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
