CVE-2014-6977

CVSS v2.0

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:A/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions eLearn (aka com.desire2learn.campuslife.chattanoogastate.edu.directory) version 1.0.649.1194
Description The issue allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof servers and obtain sensitive information via a crafted certificate, as the application does not verify X.509 certificates from SSL servers.
Recommendations For version 1.0.649.1194, consider implementing certificate pinning or validating X.509 certificates from SSL servers to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the application on untrusted networks until a patch is available.
