| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Google Chrome versions prior to 39.0.2171.65
Description
The issue is related to a use-after-free vulnerability in the Pepper plugins, which can be triggered by crafted Flash content. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have other unspecified impacts via an attempted access to the PepperMediaDeviceManager outside of the object's lifetime.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 39.0.2171.65, update to version 39.0.2171.65 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of Pepper plugins or restricting access to Flash content until the update is applied.
