CVE-2014-8130

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LibTIFF version 4.0.3
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a divide-by-zero error and application crash, via a crafted TIFF image. This is due to the TIFFmalloc function not rejecting a zero size, which is then mishandled by the TIFFWriteScanline function.
Recommendations For LibTIFF version 4.0.3, consider updating to a newer version that addresses this issue, as the current version does not properly handle zero-size allocations in the TIFFmalloc function, leading to potential crashes when processing malicious TIFF images. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
