CVE-2014-8585

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WordPress Download Manager plugin for WordPress (affected versions not specified)
Description A directory traversal issue exists in the WordPress Download Manager plugin, allowing remote attackers to read arbitrary files. This is achieved by including a .. (dot dot) in the fname parameter to either "views/file download.php" or "file download.php" API endpoints.
Recommendations For the WordPress Download Manager plugin, consider restricting access to the "views/file download.php" and "file download.php" endpoints until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the fname parameter in these endpoints to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
