| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
W3 Total Cache plugin versions prior to 0.9.4.1
Description
The issue is related to a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. It allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the
Cache key in the HTML-Comments when debug mode is enabled. This can be demonstrated by the PATH INFO to the default URI.Recommendations
For versions prior to 0.9.4.1, update to version 0.9.4.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling debug mode until a patch is available. Restrict access to the
Cache key in the HTML-Comments to minimize the risk of exploitation.Exploit
