CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions tcpdump versions 3.9.6 through 4.6.2
Description The issue is related to an integer underflow in the olsr print function when tcpdump is in verbose mode. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a crash, by sending a crafted length value in an OLSR frame.
Recommendations For versions 3.9.6 through 4.6.2, consider disabling verbose mode until a patch is available to prevent the denial of service.
