CVE-2014-9304

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Plex Media Server versions prior to 0.9.9.3
Description The issue allows remote attackers to bypass the web server whitelist and conduct SSRF attacks. Attackers can also execute arbitrary administrative actions by sending multiple crafted X-Plex-Url headers to the system/proxy endpoint. The request handler in the backend web server processes these headers inconsistently.
Recommendations For versions prior to 0.9.9.3, update to version 0.9.9.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the system/proxy endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the X-Plex-Url header in requests to the backend web server until the issue is resolved.
